Does anyone know why Cubase 14 doesn’t open Cubase 12 & 13 Files ?
It does open them.
If yours doesn’t then you need to give something for people to work with to guess why. Did you try starting in safe mode? How are you opening them?
What is happening?
Hey KostasT,
could this be related to this problem we identified?
To test this please change the projectname to something that only includes letters and numbers, like “hello123”. If that doesn’t help then please describe what happens when trying to open the projects.
Sorry for you inconvienience.
Best regards,
Alex
I did try using only Letters & Numbers but when it comes in opening the actual file it stucks and…nothing…any other idea maybe ?
I cannot open any of my old cubase 13 projects in cubase 14.
Wow. I got some ASIO problems after upgrading, but I think I can manage.
Hey! Did you try the above mentioned workaround for a known issue? This can be done by renaming the projectfile to something that only uses letters and numbers, like “Hello123” or similar.
Do you have any errormessage?
Thanks, and yes. Maybe I should not use _ anymore. I am okay with this issue now; however, something strange happened in my last Cubase 14 session.
I am new to Cubase, so perhaps I made a mistake. Suddenly, the vocal track I was dubbing turned gray in the header and along the track. There was no sound. I could not bring the track back, so I created a new track and moved my recording, and then my recording was fine. What did I do? Originally it was a Cubase 13 project.
Yes sorry about that. The fix will be published soon, so every usual projectname will be fine then.
About the track problem I cannot say much. I doubt it has something to do with being a C13 project. Maybe others can help. I am an engineer and try to look out for bugs in the forum, so I’m not able to offer you support there. I would propose opening a new thread for this, since this doesn’t seem to relate to this problem and might get lost in this thread.
Best regards,
Alex
Thanks for your help. I will open a new tread with a screenshot if it happens again.
