OpenType’s Proportional Metrics in Japanese characters

Unlike Latin characters, Japanese characters kana are usually not proportional and are not kerned.
So what about in lyrics?

We have to adjust the spacing between letters to save extra space:

How time-consuming! OpenType fonts usually contain spacing information for Japanese characters. DTP softwares such as Adobe Illustrator have an option called proportional metrics that applies this information.

I request this feature for Dorico.

It looks to me as if this option in Illustrator corresponds to either the palt (Proportional Alternate Widths), the pkna (Proportional Kana), or perhaps the pwid (Proportional Widths) OpenType features. When Dorico eventually has direct support for OpenType features, we should be able to make it possible to enable these features in Dorico.

Yes, palt is applied. I look forward to future development.
