Optimizing Mac Studio with Rosetta in Cubase

Mac Studio M1 Max
32 mb
Apollo twin
buffer size 64

Not using UAD plugs yet.
I have very little loaded in my Daw and my performance meter is jumping around like I’m running an old machine.
I need to use Rosetta. My research has told me that Rosetta should not impact performance that much. But with a couple of plugs this should not be happening.
Is there something I need to do to optimize?

I want to have a low buffer size for tracking with amp sims.
I’ve seen demos of 100+ tracks with a couple of plugs on each track with a buffer of 32 and no glitching - but this was not Cubase.

Activity monitor show no spikes so my issue is in Cubase.

I’m having the exact same issue. Just got my Mac Studio 2 days ago, did you find a solution for this? I really wasn’t expecting this and I’m using Cubase in apple silicon mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated…:+1:t2:

I just pretty much stopped looking at the performance meter.
I have not had a big enough session to impact any issue with performance.
I did find that sometimes the meter would jump around and if I opened and closed an offending plugin it stabilized. Not a scientific test by any means but there you go.
Have you had any success a few months later?
