Orange box on staff with shaded notehead

Hi,

What is this orange box on the staff? I can’t seem to get rid of it.

  1. It appears that the two notes inside the orange boxes might be hidden notes. If you delete them, does that fix the problem?

  2. If you can post the project or a cut-down version (ie, only the bars which are affected), I am willing to have a look and see if I can find out what they are and hopefully how to remove them.

That’s the live note editing overlay. If you prefer to disable live note editing, disable Enable note pitch and rhythmic position editing using the mouse on the Note Input and Editing page of Preferences.
