Having recently discovered the music of Gustav Mahler, I wanted to explore the orchestral template that comes with Cubase Pro 13. But when I open it, it’s all MIDI tracks. Maybe this is a template that’s been included with Cubase since the time you would plug in MIDI keyboards with the 5 Pin connector and record that way, but how would I use this template with VSTis?
Hi,
You can add the instrument of your choice and route all the MIDI tracks to the given instrument.
Thanks Martin. I still don’t know how to do that because it’s not something I have needed to use, but it seems to me that it would be easier to just create the 27 tracks as instrument tracks assigning your player of choice and then copy and paste the template’s track names to the new track names, right?
Hey there. Just route midi track 1 to instrument 1 through 16 corresponding.
Say you have Iconica sketch in Halion sonic with 16 instruments. Number each 1-16 and set the relevant midi to the input and you should be good to go
The same would apply to individual instrument tracks >
I’ll give that a try, thanks.
This is supposed to work with any player, right? If I want to do something like this in OT Sine player, it would work, correct?
Of course. As song as the midi input corresponds to the instruments your good to go.
Cool, thanks!
