Hello, I try to do a music with church organ “3 staves option” but on the menu “voices” I have still 2 staves instead of 3 so I can’t put notes on the pedals stave … is it a bug ?
I’m afraid that is indeed a limitation of the moment. We’re working on improving this in a future patch release.
Then? Nothing yet for score editor ?![]()
The score editor will never be as full-featured as it used to be. Steinberg wants you to buy Dorico. They have said as much.
Please don’t misrepresent what we’ve said. For certain use cases, Dorico will be a better fit. But the Score Editor is a useful tool on its own.
We are planning to lift the limit of 2 stave instruments. There is a small technical limitation at the moment which we intend to work on.
I have tried at any occasions Dorico, it doesn’t do work as I wish, I turn to Muse Score, which until now fits my needs.
I won’t update for another cubase 15, 16… If the score editor doesn’t do what it does by the past, ( playing the articulations and writing it properly) I am sometimes doing orchestral film score and i believe the competition is now with more softwares free or not.
Hello Stefan,
Nothing new regarding the chapel :D, and the status quo remains for the score editor (some gaps…).
Best regards
This isn’t true, there is a lot new. The thing brought up in this thread with the organ is probably unchanged, but the articulations thing (playing them and writing them properly) has been implemented and is there. Also there are font size controls and the ability to hide notes, which were two common requests (ex. a lot of people wanting to increase the size of chord symbols can do so now).
Well, try to write the harmonic symbol ‘o’ among other ^^
Most of the symbols are broken in the release version like tremolo and accent, it was already mentioned in another thread that these should be fixed in the first update. They are supposed to be working in Cubase 15 (and were not in Cubase 14) and are only broken due to this bug. This probably includes your harmonic symbol too.
Text directions like con sord., sul tasto etc are properly working in Cubase 15 and are triggering the techniques. This was not the case before.
I agree with this , but my statement to say that nothing new was in regard to the direction and attribute : Direction - ok, attribute - lots of fixs must still to be made, let see if they will do soon
Right, but there’s a big difference even between attributes with Cubase 14 and Cubase 15. In Cubase 14 it was not developed for them to work in both. In Cubase 15, it is, but it is just not working right now because of a small bug. All of the code is there and Paul said here in this public forum that it was already fixed actually and will be in the next update for Cubase 15.
There’s a huge difference in general between something not being implemented at all (as in Cubase 14) in which case things can be a longer wait, or implemented but just not working because of a small bug (as in Cubase 15) in which case it is a very short time.
Well…Wait(again) and see…
