Orientation Bug in Print Preview

I just discovered that there is an obvious bug in the print preview. The page orientation displayed in the preview is the exact opposite of what is actually exported, at least as I have things set up. This is in the latest version on Mac: 5.1.81. I’m running macOS 13.7.2.

I’m doing an export to PNG files for use on slides. The page size is set to 1280pt wide by 360pt high. I’ve been using landscape mode for the exports for a few years. This time when I clicked the landscape icon, the preview showed me a portrait mode image. If I click the portrait mode icon, the preview shows me images in the landscape mode.

When actually do the export, the generated files correspond to the icon I’ve selected, not the preview.

Note: The previews displayed when I click portrait mode are now more accurate representations of what will actually be generated as landscape files than in previous versions of Dorico. They’re just swapped.

Here are the two example screen shots:

The preview screen one sees in Print mode does not reflect the margins set for one’s pages (lots of surrounding white space). So far as it prints correctly, that is what matters.

Thanks for reporting this. You can safely ignore the print preview when exporting graphics, because Dorico will always use the size specified in Layout Options, but we’ll take a look at correcting this in future.
