What is the easiest way to push the bar after the double bars to the next line? I would prefer to start a new line when the parts change and the melody moves to a different instrument. (This is a woodwind quintet, by the way.) Thanks.
Hi @konradh, in Engrave mode, select the first note in bar 33, and press the dot . (= move to next system)
@Christian_R, I swear, you know everything. When I am rich, maybe I can hire you as a highly paid consultant!
. ![]()
Or just add a System Break when something in that bar is selected.
@benwiggy, Good tip. The period method worked, but then the next few bars were stretched out much. Is there a simple fix for that?
Using the period usually creates two System Breaks on the following line, fixing the systems bars.
Just adding one System break ‘resets’ the spacing from thereon.
OK, thanks. How do I go back now?
Ctrl-Z if you haven’t done anything else ![]()
Otherwise I’d look for System Break signposts that were created, and delete those
