OSC Messages in Cubase

I would love to see Cubase support for OSC messages.
I started using TouchOSC in Reaper some time ago and I made the switch to Cubase a few days ago.
I don’t think OSC messages are essential for the DAW, but it would definitely be super cool to be able to use them in Cubase.
I’m no programmer by no means, but, if it were a possibility, I think OSC messages would improve Cubase’s workflow for many people, and for others that don’t use them it would be just a feature that doesn’t get in the way.
The main way that I would like to use it is to control the mixer and to get the labels from the Quick Controls. It is a little confusing to have some faders assigned to the Quick Controls in a MIDI controller without seeing the name of the parameter that I am adjusting.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Please add the optional feature-request tag to your post.

You can make that work today by using MIDI Remote with a custom script. It is however not very straightforward.

I wouldn’t mind seeing support for OSC either.

I’ve been looking to add the “feature-request” but I can’t seem to find how to edit the post

Can you reference some tutorials or maybe another post that talks about how to send labels to Touch OSC via MIDI?
The only solution to this that I saw was with SysEx messages, but I don’t understand who to program it.

Hi,

Click the Pencil next to the title. Then you can also change the tags. Thank you.

That is the only way to do it afaik and only possible by writing a custom MIDI Remote script. This does require you to have some knowledge about JavaScript.

There’s no pencil to the right of the thread title, there’s only pencil in the top right of my post but doesn’t let me edit the post.

Clearly, I’m missing something.

@andreschwebel1

I did it for you.
