OT: XML for Messiah?

Sorry, posting here out of desperation. Our orchestra is using the Prout edition of Handel’s Messiah (scored for full orch). Some of the parts are just unreadable.

Anybody know if an XML is available anywhere? Or MIDI, even. Thanks!

Looking at the Prout ed. parts on IMSLP … They look pretty clear to me … Are there particular parts that you think are no good?

Trumpet 1 has old eyes. He’s asking. And a few string players.

Cramming the entire Overture onto the first page of each part is some truly impressive squeezing. It does get better on subsequent pages …

Trumpets 1 & 2 part is only 9 pages of music for the whole thing. I bet you could recopy it even faster than I could, or than either of us could wrangle XML into place, if it existed …

Anyway, I doubt that anybody’s recopied this before and posted it.

Prout is, musicologically speaking, shocking, and if you do find XML or MuseScore, it’s likely to be different. (And will also need checking in any case.)

A new set of parts for Messiah is not something I’d want to do to any kind of deadline.

Another idea: Is the librarian equipped to print 10 × 13" or other larger than Letter? It can make a big difference. (I suppose they’d’ve thought of that before I did …)

[OT] There is a pretty amazing version by somebody called Mozart.
And Mr. Prout pirated a lot of things from Mozart, however he made it worse.

According to this, Notion comes with Handel’s Messiah:

I don’t have it, so I can’t vouch for the quality or anything.

Point taken about the Prout, but that ship has sailed.

I have a Dorico copy of Messiah, but it’s the original …

Would you be willing to share? Even just the XML would be huge. Thank you. (I think the strings are the same, at least)

What’s your email?

You’ll have to re-activate some of the flows and put them in the order you need according to your performance (use a part for that of course). Right now it is set for the last performance Rosa did. One look at the flows in setup mode and you’ll understand what I mean. Also, you’ll have to reformat the parts, but that is actually pretty quick.

Thank you! I’ll DM you.

I’m afraid, they aren’t. For example “Rejoice” and “I know that my Redeemer liveth” are significantly different

Argh! Well, that’s good to know. I’m still going to take Claude up on his generous offer, and perhaps there’s material to be re-used.
