I’m running a UR44C on my Windows 11 Pro notebook. It worked ok until the day before yesterday. All for a sudden the UR44C is no longer detected. The Yamaha driver (2.1.7) doesn’t show any device. The Windows device manager doesn’t show the UR44C or any of its audio inputs or outputs. dspMixFX says “no device found”. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver as well as the software, to no avail. I have disabled Microsoft Defender because I thought it somehow blocked the driver to load. No effect. The same thing happens - i.e. nothing - when I attach my old UR22C. Hence, it doesn’t seem to be a hardware problem. Just in case, I have also exchanged the cables. I’m now running out of options. Does anyone have an idea what else I could try? I have contacted the Steinberg support but didn’t hear back so far.
I had mine working with a tip and ring on the input to the 3.5mm in the back of my computer but it ran through the Realtek soundcard that came with the MSI 470 gaming plus max (motherboard). It also bypassed the USB!. ALthough its been troublesome to get it able to work and record previously. Anywho, that is how I had it working. I just bought a mixer and now it doesn’t seem to work with usb at all so i’m looking for options. Maybe a new soundcard because I too reinstalled the drivers and replaced cables to no avail. Please let me know if you have any things that get it working. Or just what you get to work. I’d appreciate it. Thanks

Hi Dayne,
Thanks for your post. In my case there was a strange solution, and nobody could explain why it worked: I plugged a USB hub into the notebook and connected the UR44C to the hub. Amazingly, it was immediately recognized and worked properly. Here comes the weird thing: When I then connected the UR44C again directly to the native USB slot of the notebook, the connection problem was gone. Weird! Anyway, all that counts is that the UR44C works again.
Best regards,
Berthold
