overlapping note heads

I just started a trial version of Dorico and I’m liking it a lot so far! I see the potential to speed up my work flow a lot so I’m considering making the switch from Sibelius.

Is there a quick and easy way to achieve this effect in Dorico?

(A screenshot of the selection and The Dorico project file that I’m trying to do this with are attached.)

I imagine I could just change the x parameter of the quaver so it overlaps with the minim then change the color of the note head to white so it’s not visible, but is there a more efficient way of doing this? In Sibelius it’s simply making sure the correct voices are used (i.e. voices 1 and 3), then making the quaver “headless.”

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum, dvorak888.

There is indeed a quick way to do this in Dorico: see the Voices page in Notation Options, where you can set ‘Unison half note (minim) and shorter notes in opposing voices’ to ‘Allow noteheads to overlap’.

Perfect, thank you!
