I’d like to have my page number on the left → left aligned
my page number on the right → right aligned
…but whenever I change one side on my master page template, the other side is automatically modified, too - without me using the ‘L->R’ Copy button in Dorico.
Why is that?
What could I do please?

Hi, I’m answering from my phone, but I remember that if you use the “Page number” Paragraph style [for the page number token] when editing the template, the left and right alignment stays where it should be.

More generally, what makes this work in the Page Number paragraph style is the fact that the Alignment property is set to Outside Edge.
As the name implies, this aligns text to the outside edge of its frame (i.e., the left on LH pages and the right on RH pages). Inside Edge will do the opposite.
