Pasting music from one Flow to another

Hello, Is there a way I can take music from one Flow and paste it to the beginning of music in another Flow (within the same project) so the pasted part would now be the first part of the music in the other Flow? Both pieces of music in each flow have pickup bars and corresponding rhythmically correct ending bars for the pickup bars. Both pieces of music are in 12/8. Thank you for any help you can give me. All the best!

Activating Insert mode before pasting should do something sensible, although I’d recommend working in a duplicate version of your project, just in case (ie so you have easy access to a pre-trial-copy file!)

The scope of Insert mode affects how existing material gets shifted. I expect (although haven’t double-checked myself) you would want one of the Global scopes, to make sure all parts get pushed back by the same amount.

Or do you actually want to split your original flow at that point? Then select the note that should become the start of the next flow, and select Split Flow from the Write menu (in Write Mode, obviously). Dorico will even create the correct pick-up bar (I checked).

Hi Lillie and thank you for your reply. It helped but it included the pickup bar of the second section as the last bar of the first section which I’ll have to figure out how to redo but it is close. Pickup bars are not easy to work with and figure out. Thank you for your time and help.

Thank you for your reply but I am not trying to split flows. I was trying to add one flow to the beginning of another flow. Thanks!
