Hello, I reinstalled Cubase 14 on my new Mac. My Native Instrument sound banks are installed on an external hard drive. How do I configure the path from Cubase so that my plug-ins appear in Kontakt 8? Thank you.
Hi,
You are mixing up the terminology.
Kontakt is a plug-in. Kontakt cannot show plug-ins. Kontakt shows the Sound Banks/Libraries.
So, open NI Kontakt (as a plug-in) in Cubase. And within Kontakt, load the Sound Banks/Libraries from the external drive.
I prefer to load the Sound Banks/Libraries in the standalone version for the very first time. Just to avoid some possible licensing issues or unexpected dialogs and windows. Once the libraries appear in the standalone version, they also appear in the plug-in.
Open Native Access and relocate (repair) the path to your libraries.
Hi, Thank you for your response.
Yes, Iāve already reopened Kontakt in standalone mode to rescan the sound banks and set the contents on my external hard drive in Native Access. But when I open Kontakt in Cubase, it still doesnāt display the banks.
But thereās something I donāt quite understand. In my case, where Iām moving to a new computer, is installing Kontakt from Native Access enough to recover the contents of my plugins installed on my hard drive, or does it also require reinstalling the plug-ins one by one?
(Itās normal that there is a red error message, my hard drive is not connected at the moment.)
Hi,
I expect, by āplug-insā, you mean the āSound Librariesā here. No, you donāt have to reinstall the Sound Libraries. If they are on the external drive already, you can just point Kontakt to where to find it.
Yes for āSound Librariesā, sorry. But how can I point kontakt to my external hard drive?
Okey thatās the solution. Itās a little bit different on the version 3 of Native Acess. We had to go to :
Support > Add Product Content > Chose a location
Thanks a lot for your help and time
Sorry but Iām continuing the same question but with the content of the Groove Agent and Halion Sonic plug-ins. How do I configure the path to the sound banks?
Hi,
In the Steinberg Library Manager.
