PDF export: bold and italic font changed to regular

Hi!

When I try to export a pdf file Dorico switches my bold and italic font changes to regular, which in the program itself looks fine. I use Roman Ionic and I’m on Windows. Any ideas?

Roman Ionic only exists in regular. While Dorico can do a pretty good job of improvising bold and italic variants, it can’t export a font that doesn’t exist via its own Graphics export function. You can work around this by using a PDF Printer, but bear in mind there are potential downsides to this - the print won’t necessarily come out as sharp, you may need to check that additional margins haven’t been added, you lose the automatic filename functionality that Dorico provides, etc.

You’re probably better off using font variants that actually exist.

Thank you for your answer, very helpful!
