Depending on what you have at the start of the pedal line, you may be able to remove the continuation completely. If you start your pedal line with text, then you can set the continuation text to be an empty string; you will also need to switch off the ‘Show continuation sign in parentheses’ property if you have the engraving option to show the continuation sign in parentheses enabled.
