Percussion Kits in Instrument List token

I did a search for this topic but only came up with requests of a per-flow instrument list token, and removing instrument numbering from the list (I created that one). I thought it might be best to have a separate thread for this topic.

Currently, if I use the {@instrumentlist@} token and a player is holding a kit, it lists the instruments within the kit rather than the name of the kit. This is very often not standard.

Sure, if you have a “concert band-style” percussion layout, that has a kit with multiple instruments that multiple players might be reading from, this is great. But if you have a player holding a kit of two congas, it’s likely one would never want them listed separately as Conga 1 and Conga 2.

Personally, this token isn’t really useful at all unless I happen to have a percussionist who only holds single/separate instruments (and doesn’t have other players holding the same instrument.)

Am I missing something? Is there a way to display a kit name rather than it’s instruments?

It will display the kit name if the “drum kit” option is set in the Edit Percussion Kit dialog. Perhaps you could set that without any ill effects?

Hi Daniel,

I have found some strange behaviour: I tried, as you suggested, selecting the “Drum Kit” option but nothing happened at first.

I had to navigate from, and back to, that layout to see the effects. It seems that adding/removing any instrument in the project will also trigger the name to change.

Thanks for the tip, though. It seems to do the trick.
