I’d appreciate some help with Percussion kits. I’m working on a piece (still in draft form). The temple blocks won’t play back in pitch order. In the kit, I’ve put the high block on top, the medium block in the middle, and the low block on the bottom. For playback, Dorico seems to randomize percussion instruments in ways toat don’t resemble the kit. I’m sure I’m missin something obvious, but some guidance would be appreciated. See the blocks in m, 17. Thanks!

Hi @markelliotbergman, you edited the 5-line staff visualisation in the Edit Percussion Kit dialogue. But, since in your Layout Options>Players>Percussion the Grid visualisation is chosen for that layout, you need to edit the Grid visualisation in the Edit Percussion Kit dialogue, dragging the instruments in the desired order there.
Each visualisation (5-line Staff, Grid, Single-line instruments) is independent from each other, so that you can have different orders in the different visualisation types
:
To reorder the numbers you would need to remove the 3 WB from the kit (clicking on the icon in the lower part of the dialogue), so that they will appear outside the kit but inside the player, reorder them there. Then from menu Setup choose Reset Instrument Names. Then you can Add them back into the kit clicking on the other icon:
Here the corrected file (please tell me if you want that I remove it from my post):
Barndance! Symphony-CORRECTED WB.dorico (3.1 MB)
Alternatively you can rename them:
Any chance you can help with one more question? I can’t get the whip to play. Any ideas?
Thank you!
