I try to make a new percussion map when I wanted to change MidiNr 7 it made a copy somehow and after that I could not clear one of them and one was empty (please see the Pics below. I also noticed that in the Playback Techniques List Edge trigger is listed two times , one has the Star filled in and on both the trashcan is greyed out , so there is no possibility to delete one if necessary .
Can someone help me, just want to make a SuperiorDrummer3_Library Percussion Map
Best

The issue you have is a bug which I have reported a long time ago which somehow never gets fixed. I wrote a long text in another thread recently Blocked line in PM. It also gives things you can try to delete the double line with as last resort editing the PM file itself in a text editor.
It occurs mainly with user added techniques or instruments.
Regarding the double entry in the playing techniques, try deleting one of the lines when the technique is not in use in your project. You might have created this starred edge trigger_HH in another project and by giving it a star it became global but you also have a local one just valid for this project. Probably that one is used in your present project and cannot be deleted and the other one is global created in another project and can also not be deleted.
I have made a lot of PMs e.g. for Addictive Drums, Synchron Percussion I-III and Spitfire Joby Burgess. I always tried to use as many already available playing techniques to avoid getting too many user added techniques (exactly matching the text used in the library) which in fact match fully or closely match a general technique used by drummer. So for you Edge Trigger HH you could use the factory technique Edge (Cymbals).
You donβt get around some additional ones especially if you have many hit variants (a bit like round robins) but the problems always arise with those. So the less you need them the better.
After many hour I had to find out that if i hit ok in the PM and did not finish an Instrument Entry i never could change anything. but you mentioned that I could change in the text file in a text editor , but which file and where is it ?
I tried several places and all I found was a XML file which opened in text edit was not human readable , please can you tell me where this file lives and with wich Text Editor I can work best on it (maybe TextWrangler or TaxtMate or SublimText or Xcode ?).
By the way I lost about 40 hours with this and about 10 Lessons with 5 teachers all in all it costed my about 1β000$ for something that is the problem of Dorico. I also have customers which are waiting, so I am not very pleased with this whole situation, please help me, I mean its only a Percussion Map, right !
The self created PMβs are located in ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6 (or the version you have) under the directory DefaultLibraryAdditions.
Both self created EMs and PMs are there. You can edit the PMs with a normal text editor. I explained it in the thread I linked higher up. I would only use it to delete the non-responsive entries. The format is too complicated to enter name, instrument and techniques manually in the text editor.
Sorry to hear you lost so much time. The directory where the PMs are saved is given in several threads in this forum and probably also in the manual. Most programs have such support files under Application support on a Mac. The Google IA answer is unfortunately, as often, wrong although it does lead you to the correct main directory.
If you have Windows I found this directory but I cannot confirm as I have no PC C:\Users\(((USERNAME)))\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Dorico 5\UserLibrary.xml (or the relevant version number). )
Although they do read all threads here, I have the feeling that the input from Dorico staff on issues has decreased the last months. I suggest that you send a mail to Dorico support on the time you lost with this issue. The bug with the PM entries freezing and no way to delete them is an old one and keeps annoying a lot of people
Hi mavros
Thank you so much, you are great !
As you can see in the Pics below in the Folder β> /Users/retobyell/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6/DefaultLibraryAdditions, I have only 3 Files , but I made some additional Test Files β> RetoSuperior_1, RetoSuperior2, SuperiorAvatar and SuperiousAvatar(NoDup) , but where can I find this ?
I looked also in β>/Library/Application Support/Steinberg, as you can see below in the Pic the folder is empty
Export it using the menu option at the bottom of the window with all your PMs, simplest to your desktop
edit it there with a text editor and best give it another name
import it again in the main PM window with the list
When the editing was successful you blocked lines should not be there anymore and you can enter a definition for the block CC number gain. If all works you can delete the faulty PM (that normally works even with some entries blocked).
I hope this works.
(I have a lot of EMs and PMs saved on the above mentioned directory but also noticed that new maps created are not saved there anymore and cannot be found by the Mac finder.)
