Dear Dorico community,
As a bloody newbie, I’m currently testing Dorico 5 Pro version with Noteperformer 4 (also test version) and made great steps forward, but have no idea whatsoever concerning Noteperformer with Percussion Maps and Expression Maps etc.
I’m thrilled with what I’ve discovered and achieved in just 3 days with Dorico . Now I have to familiarize myself with the subject of percussion notation, playback and layout.
I still have almost no idea about MIDI etc, even though I have an older Roland E600. In Dorico, I only use the computer keyboard and mouse so far.
Please excuse me for asking about this here, maybe you can please link some help tutorials or chapters or forum themes on this, thanks!
Sorry, I’m confused, haven’t found the right videos, help chapters or forum posts for this case:
Here are the first 4 (draft) bars from my new orchestral score, having problems with the percussion set on the grid:
Draft_1.dorico (1,5 MB)
It contains a triangle, castanets, tambourine, mark tree, snare drum and bass drum 1 and 2 so far.
For playback, I use the Noteperformer 4 trial version.
In bar one, I entered 4 beats (red notes) in the drum set to test it.
Triangle, Castanets and Snare Drum play the correct sound,
but with Tambourine, Mark Tree and Bass Drums 1 and 2 have the same (wrong) bass drum sound and don’t know where I can change it or what I did wrong.
I’m also a bit confused why I see three Noteperformer entries in Playback/VST Instruments that are numbered 2, 3 and 4 and guess if this are sections of instrument families(?)
Thank you all!
