Does anyone have any experience in dealing with slow / laggy performance in Cubase on a Windows 11 PC? I currently have both versions 14 and 15 installed on my PC and 14 (along with all other software and programs incl. several adobe suite apps) runs perfectly and as intended. However, issues arise with Cubase 15. What I’m seeing is it’s taking at least twice as long to open the same project as in 14, it takes 2-3 seconds to open Mixconsole, the slider at the bottom of Mixconsole is very slow and laggy, and quick save takes 2-3 seconds to complete.
These issues seemed to start when I was attempting to fix a crashing issue that tech support said was due to a windows system file called “ntdll.dll”. It was suggested that I open command prompt and run “regsvr32.exe /u ntdll.dll” then “regsvr32.exe ntdll.dll” to uninstall then reinstall that file.
After running these commands the crashing issue was unfortunately still there but even worse, I began getting the horrible performance issues listed above.
After more research on the dll file, I came across a few other commands to run that would generally repair windows system files, “SFC /scannow” and “DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth”. Unfortunately, neither of these fixed the performance issue.
I thought this might be tied to a graphics driver issue (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060) but after updating, the issue was still there. Has anyone else dealt with any similar issues on a windows machine and were you able to find any solutions? Did I ruin my system somehow by running those commands? Is there any way to reinstate system files suffice a fresh windows reinstall?
