Persistent bug when importing scores do Dorico and changing tab string assignments

I’ve found this bug persistently among many projects using both C14 and C15 on Mac:

  • import a score (even a relatively simple one, e.g. a solo line on a single treble clef) into cubase
  • open cubase score editor and enable tablature on the score
  • modify the string assignments for teh notes.
  • periodically, changing the string assignment on a note will cause other notes earlier in the bar to disappear. These notes aren’t actually gone… if you close the score editor and re-open it (or double click on the event again if using the lower zone) the notes will re-appear.
  • This is very repeatable, but unpredictable (it seems to happen randomly, every few bars).

Thanks for reporting, I’ve logged it. We call this an ‘invalidation error’ because when you make an edit, the score editor works out which range of events has been invalidated and needs to be recalculated. It will then remove and recreate events in that range. In this case it appears to be invalidating a range that is too wide.

I have tried this myself, but I can’t reproduce it. Please do let us know if you have a specific project that shows the problem. It’s possible that it’s fixed in our current internal build.
