Hi, I am a new ex-Finale user. Is there any way how I can edit the standard rehearsal marks Dorico uses to my trusted rehearsal marks (from Finale):
?
Welcome to the forum @Celmar !
You can change the paragraph style used for rehearsal marks to any font that you have installed on your computer. However, unless the border comes from the paragraph style itself, the border options in Dorico might not completely match.
Finale used glyphs in the text font to create the box, so if you wanted to use those, you would have to add those bits of text as prefixes and suffixes to the index Letter for the mark, which involves a bit of manual messing about.
(Though once you’ve made one, you can Alt-click it to create a copy elsewhere, which will have the same prefix and suffixes, and with an incremented mark letter.)
Dorico offers a range of enclosures in Paragraph Styles:
… but nothing quite like the irregular, rushed look of the Jazz font.
Here you go, file included. You can set custom prefix and suffix in Engraving options to use these enclosures from the Jazz text font. File below.
