I’m puzzled about the playback behaviour of piano glissandi in Dorico.
For example, I have a gliss. on the treble stave between top A down to B in the middle of the stave. It plays perfectly using either NotePerformer or Garritan/Aria piano.
However, if I use the BBCSO Piano Core or the Soundpaint pianos, the gliss. doesn’t play. I may be missing the obvious, but is this expected behaviour?
I don’t know that the expression map is relevant, but I’m using the Dorico default in all cases. Changing it doesn’t alter the behaviour.
very strange – I can’t see how any keyboard instrument using the default map can produce that. I don’t have the BBC Core piano, unfortunately, but using something like celesta from BBC Core works as expected. I had thought that maybe if you accidentally had “continuous” set for the glissando type instead of “auto” in Properties, then something might go wrong – I’d check that to be on the safe side – but I can’t reproduce even with that. Perhaps someone else has this library and can test directly.
Thanks for the reply. In view of your reassurance, I created a blank score and copied over the previous score. All pianos now play the gliss. I can only conclude a corruption of some sort in the original. Strange that two pianos played the gliss and the other two, didn’t – no other changes made.
