Piano music imported via MIDI appears on single treble staff only

Brand new DE user. I’ve searched the manual, Internet and this site plus explored Dorico Elements for an hour.

I composed a piano song in The Grand and saved it as a midi file. When importing the midi file into DE, the entire song is only in a treble clef. I can’t figure out how to split the song into both a treble and a bass clef. Could someone kindly assist? Tnx.

Hi @BJ_Dobbs, (if you, with “DE” mean Dorico) make sure that when you open your MIDI file with dorico, in the MIDI Import Options dialogue (that should open automatically) you set the Instrument(s) in track to Piano, then in Interpretation → Split point for grand staff instruments, set it to Auto, and adjust your Quantise options as appropriate for your music. Does this helps?

EDIT: sorry I just noticed that you use Elements. Anyway I tried from Elements, and it exported the Grand Staff correctly into a Grand Staff, that you can then change into Piano in Setup mode. Can you post your MIDI file?
