Since the latest Cubase 15 update I’ve run into an issue that wasn’t present in Cubase 14. In the previous version, Pitch Bend worked perfectly with external plugins (for example, Arturia instruments). But when I open the exact same project in Cubase 15, the Pitch Bend stops working and the plugin doesn’t receive the data.
Is this a known bug, or is there a new setting I should look into?
Any help or clarification would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Martin, I have the same problem with the Pitch Bend that is not working anymore in Cubase 15 Pro. Preference are just like you described and the Midi Input Port has only the Soundcard and the Yamaha Tyros 3 arranger… (I tried to add screenshots but I don’t see a button for attachments….)
Hi. I have the same issue, especially with Mini V3. In addition, Mini V3 will not receive any CC data. The ‘Event Received Indicator’ does not light when wheel/pitchbend/MIDI CC is received. Everything works fine in C14; but not in C15. I reported the issue to Arturia. They replied: “This points to a compatibility issue between Mini V3 and Cubase 15, rather than a configuration issue on your system. The GUI behavior you mentioned further supports that Mini V3 is not behaving as expected in this environment. The case has been forwarded internally for investigation.” It would also be helpful if Steinberg could investigate from their side.
Hi. I have the same problem at home with the Mini V3 and the Prophet; pitch and modulation don’t work. Until a fix is released, it works when using Analog Lab.
First of all, I’m very impressed that you offer your help to so many people here in the forum.
The screenshots aren’t really crucial.
… I already started a thread about this in the German forum:
Since I started a new project and loaded the Arturia Mini V3 into a new instrument track, I noticed that
modulation and pitch bend weren’t working (the same with the Prophet). If I load other VSTs into the same
instrument track and project instead, both work. Even the current version of the Mini V4 works perfectly.
If it exists as described, it cannot be due to any input filters, since not all VSTs are affected.
In Cubase 14, both the Mini V3 and the Prophet work flawlessly.
Something must have changed in the Cubase 15 update that’s causing this problem with the two Arturias.
All the other Arturia VSTs work perfectly in Cubase 15.
Currently, I don’t have remote control enabled or any external controller except Mackie Control with “Daw2Mackie” for my Stream Deck. Whether enabled or not, the problem persists with version 15.0.10. The MIDI filter is set to SysEx. It’s important to be careful not to enable “All MIDI Inputs” on the MIDI inputs themselves, but rather on the MIDI keyboard input; otherwise, when sending a command from the Stream Deck, a note-on is generated, which can be annoying.
Until a solution is found, you’ll need to stay on version 14.0.41 to fully utilize the Mini V3 or upgrade to V4, which works on version 15.0.10.
Does it mean, it’s not while recording, but it’s while playback? Double-check the Preferences MIDI Filter. Or do you use any other but the MIDI Monitor MIDI Insert by any chance?
After quite a bit of testing, the problem isn’t with the MIDI filters or the data reception, which is visible on the transport bar monitor, on a MIDI monitor inserted, and on the recorded track. The problem lies between the MIDI track and the plugin, since the pitch bend and mod wheel information isn’t being transmitted during playback. Note that everything works fine with Cubase 14, with the same setup.
I realized that it’s possible to use the instant controls (QCs), but only with rack instruments.
Workaround: create a remote MIDI control surface for your keyboard with a pitch bend and a mod wheel, and assign them to the QCs of your choice. On the instrument, to assign the QCs, select “pitch bend(!)” and “mod wheel(!)” from the list.
This will help those who have user presets incompatible with later versions:
Applicable to: Mini V3 - CS80 V3 - Prophet V3 - Jup V3 - ARP 2600 V3 …and possibly others!
