Pitch / Transpose Automation

Hi all

What is the simplest way to be able to automate pitch inside Cubase 8? Say I’d like to glide on an 808 note and want to automate it quickly.

Thanks!

Couple of ways to do this…I’d use the first if wanting different bending throughout the project or live playability & the second for spot FX as it doesn’t need the additional instrument track.

Bounce selection of a single hit from your 808 (if not already a single hit)
Drag and drop onto a pad in GASE
In the GA pitch tab set pitchbend range
Program or play in the notes and pitchbend data.

Bounce selection of a single hit
In key editor select process pitchshift
Select the envelope tab in the pitch dialogue and draw your bend

Thanks a lot for taking the time!

So anyway I’d have to bounce it? There is no way to do it on midi inside the key editor, like making the pitchbend function work over a bigger range than what it’s set to by default?

Are you talking about an instrument…then yes of course, just use pitchbend. No need to bounce anything.
Use basic midi controller data to pitchbend it.

How/If you can change pitchbend range is depending on the instrument.

Ok ok!

But isn’t there a way to make the pitchbend in the key editor to span over a higher range than the one note up and one down (I think) it lets you bend to without changing the settings?
Maybe I’m just missing something very basic here.

Thanks

Not in the key editor…As I said:
