Is it possible in Dorico SE to play back just a single voice in a 4 part choir

If you can select more than one note of one staff, that will play back on its own when you press P.

Well, it’s SE. So it’s not 4 staves…

There’s not an easy way to isolate a second voice on a staff. You could filter-select all notes in the other voice and suppress playback.

Welcome to the forum Gordon! As long as each line is in its own voice, you can enable independent voice playback in each instrument’s track header in Play mode, and then mute/solo each voice in the mixer (assuming you’re using Dorico’s sounds; for NotePerformer you’d need to do this in NP’s own mixer).
