Play Tool Behaviour

In Cubase 14, the Play tool would leave the play head at the position it was at when you released the mouse click, in C15 it jumps back to where the initial click was made, similar to “return to start position on stop”.

I can see valid reasons for the new behavior, however, I found the play head stopping where it was when you released the mouse click very useful, if searching through audio for a click, pop or anything else you need to clean, releasing as soon as you hear something and the play head basically being in the right area was so handy and a really fast way to get things done, basically when searching some audio for anything, the old behaviour is how I preferred it.

Is there a way to make the play tool in C15 respond the same way it did in C14?

This isn’t the same as the start mode settings in the transport menu, and “return to start position on stop” seems to have no effect on the play tool.

If there isn’t a way, can a toggle for this be added in a future update?

Thanks

I noticed this as well, and think I prefer the old way for the same reason.

I would actually tag this as an issue
