I hope I’ve made the issue clear in that video. I did my best.
I did not expect engraving options to affect playback and mess up slur durations. If you pay close attention, you can see note lengths don’t match before and after changing engraving options.
Am I abusing slurs and ties in this context? Or is it really a software flaw? I know I can override notes manually, but I am interested in default playback params and not having to do that every time.
I am open to further questions and willing to send the project file in private.

Hi @njoler, I can confirm this behaviour. Here another visualisation (with duplicate window) using the Property override for that option (Slurs: Start pos. in tie chain):
@dspreadbury
Sorry for the CC, but a few days have passed and some kind of developer confirmation or validation is very appreciated!
For now the obvious workaround seems to be not changing engraving options but in long legato lines like the above, this leads to clutter and visual chaos because slurs traverse the entire tie.
There’s no need to bump, and no need to tag us. We will get to every thread in good time. Please be patient, as there are dozens of new threads posted every day, and believe it or not, our jobs involve a great many other duties than monitoring the forum. We’ll come back to you when we can.
Oh, then I think I could have just said I didn’t prefer that. You are right and this can be a subjective matter.
The problem of engraving options affecting playback, remains however.
Also sorry for the CCs, I should have read the rules before doing that.
