Each time (well, last few times) I start up Dorico, I am unable to instantly play back the work. All playback buttons are greyed out. In the past, I have had a number of problems with the ASIO driver so, I do the usual - changing the ASIO driver from setup menu - and making sure the project is activated (that button is lit ok) - but nothing happens.
I usually end up restarting the computer but, even then, it often does not playback. And then, out of the blue, it will playback as usual - all buttons normal???
Only thing I have extra is a Streamdeck XL, but that is unlikely to be the problem as that has worked without problem for ages.
It’s a time-consuming nuisance but works eventually.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Pete
Hi @Seapaddler , thanks for the data.
With a first look, I can’t find a reason why that would happen to you.
There is only one freezedump contained in the diagnostics and the logs of the last 2 runs show that the audio engine did not shutdown properly, so the log files end abruptly as if frozen or crashed. Having just said that, the run before that was over several days, so you did not stop Dorico from running, but just let it continue running for days.
Could you please make my life easier and the next time it happens to you, create immediately a new diagnostics report and send me. Then I will know exactly where I need to take a close look. Otherwise it’s going through endless lines of debug output. Very tedious and time consuming.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best
Ulf
