in Dorico 6, if I set the playback duration of marcato notes (under Playback Options) to a different value, I neither see (in Key Editor) nor hear any difference in the played duration. For example:
The played duration does not appear to reflect the setting under PlayBack Options and the duration of the notes sounds exactly as shown in the Key Editor.
I am wondering if anyone is experiencing this issue?
Which playback template? If it’s NotePerformer, check the expression map under Playback Options Override (even if not NotePerformer, check the appropriate expression map).
Yes, it’s NotePerformer. I’ve yet to explore Playback Options Override and will do so now - thanks for this suggestion.
Many thanks, @derAbgang - adjusting the expression map’s playback override value for the duration of marcato notes worked perfectly! I suppose it’s not feasible for Dorico to warn users when playback options are overridden, but having such a prompt would definitely be helpful. Thanks again for the great tip!
