Playback Issues: mixer not working

Hello All

I’m struggling to understand the Dorico playback system as a Finale refugee. I’ve got a few different questions, but I’ll start with this one for this thread: I’ve got basic playback going with listenable sounds, but the mixer feature isn’t working. I’d like to balance the sounds, but I move the faders around and the volumes don’t change on the voices.

I’ve attached the file if that helps.

Which mixer are you using?

  • The Dorico mixer will set base volume for an instrument.
  • The VST mixer often changes its setting to reflect changes in dynamics as play proceeds.

Hi Derrek

I’m just using the mixer in the Play window (where you can select faders or piano roll), and don’t have any dynamic markings in the score. So are you saying it doesn’t working like a DAW mixer? I’d just like to set the relative volume of each voice.

Thanks Janus, it is working now. But it wasn’t earlier. I’m not sure what happened to this file between sessions with it, but I think I’m back on track. Thank you for the help.
