playback notes in brackets

is there a way to let notes being played back if you use the standard Dorico ‘Toggle Round Brackets’ noteheads so that one doesn’t have to create a new playing technique?

Sometimes I just want to indicate to the player: if it’s too difficult, leave out the notes in brackets. But Dorico suppresses the playback of bracketed notes .

Yes, that’s a hangover from when brackets for noteheads were first added as dead notes in percussion, which are indeed played at a lower volume. We should add a playback option for this – I’ll make a note of it.
