violin grace notes not playing back

Hi @alan7, if this happens at the beginning of the flow, increase in Playback Options>Timing>Flows> Pre-roll before flow the value (default is 0):

If this is not the issue, please upload a Dorico file example, as @rraby suggested.

Please tell us also which Playback Template are you using.

I only have Noteperformer, but play back fine here with that.

Hi @alan7, and thank you for the file.

You are using the Auto Playback template, which uses Halion Symphonic Orchestra for the Solo Violin:

For some reason the articulation doesn’t switch to Legato fast (which is necessary for those fast grace notes).

To force the Legato fast, you can edit the expression map as shown in the second screenshot here below (so that all legatos use the Legato fast articulation. Doing so you overcome the need for the switch, as all legato notes are using the “fast” version):

Dear Christian, many thanks for the corrected file and illustrations. I have tried many ways to do as you suggest for other projects, but cannot find may way through to the lego fast button. Dorico 6, Mac OS. Alan
