I am transcribing some music for a small ensemble. To do this I have exported a video file and attached it to a flow in Dorico and made a project with the same tempo. It works wonderfully well and is in total sync.
When I want to input notes using the record function and my midi keyboard, the sound is all of a sudden starting too early (aprox 1 second) in relation to my notation. Weird. I am using the newest version of Dorico, a buffer size of 128 and Noteperformer. I have tried with Halion Sonic and also to disable Asio guard.
Unfortunately, real-time recording with an attached video does indeed produce a time offset that you cannot work around. This is due to some limitations in the way Dorico syncs its time domain with the audio engine. When we can eventually make this sync more complete, we will be able to address this limitation.
Hi Daniel, has there been any progress on improving real time recording to video in the current version 6.1? I’m running Elements 5.1.8.
I’m attempting to use Dorico instead of Logic to score a short film, but finding it difficult. I’m simultaneously coming up the software’s steep learning curve, but the software is clearly limited around the live record with video use case.
