Playback Sound Fixed Low Volume

I’ve recently switched from a PC to a Mac mini (M4). Sound from my desk top speakers works perfectly including volume control, when playing back sources outside of the Dorico app (i.e. YouTube videos, CD’s etc.) - so my problem is not with the speakers or the connection to the Mac. When I playback through Dorico, the volume is almost silent and the speaker volume control does not affect the audio. I’ve tried switching from NotePerformer to Halion but no change. It seems as though there must be a setting that I need to adjust within the program but I cannot find anything in the documentation or online. If anyone has experienced a similar problem and can offer guidance, I would be grateful.

Please check the Default output level slider on the Play page of Preferences. Pull that slider over to the right to increase the default output level. For existing projects that are too quiet, once you’ve adjusted that default level in Preferences, you can use Play > Apply Default Output Level to bring the Mixer levels up to the new default.

I moved the slider all the way to the right and Applied Default Output level - the sound only comes from the internal Mac mini speaker - I can’t get any sound out of the monitor speakers or the desk top speakers. But when I play a CD, I get proper sound from both the monitor speakers and the desk top speakers. So something in Dorico is causing the sound to divert to only the Mac mini speaker.

BTW - previous to my original request, I reinstalled the entire Dorico Pro 5 software package

Problem solved. I went to Preferences-Play-Audio Device-Audio Device Setup and found the ASIO Driver was set to “Built in Audio” which is the Mac mini speaker. I changed this to the desk top speakers and that was all that was needed.
