Having an issue where when I open a Dorico project, it plays back fine the first time, but as soon as I move to another spot in the file and play from there I get this garbled audio at the wrong tempo (I assume some default tempo). This happens every time I use Dorico and often when I reopen the program it tells me the audio engine has died so I have to restart my computer. Here’s a video:

Is it NotePerformer that you are using for playback?
And if so, what version of NotePerformer do you have?
Yes, version 3.3.0.1. I also use Virtual Drum Line 2.5.5 with Kontakt 6.1.1.0.
Try to upgrade to NotePerformer 3.3.2 which contains a bug fix. That bug caused issues similar to what you experience.
Hmm. I’ve upgraded, but now Dorico doesn’t seem to be able to find the plug-in. I’ve pointed it to the right folder in preferences and reloaded the playback template, but I get the exclamation points around the plug-in name in the VST Instruments Panel.
That’s strange. What version of Dorico do you have? The very latest 3.5.12?
