Having an issue where when I open a Dorico project, it plays back fine the first time, but as soon as I move to another spot in the file and play from there I get this garbled audio at the wrong tempo (I assume some default tempo). This happens every time I use Dorico and often when I reopen the program it tells me the audio engine has died so I have to restart my computer. Here’s a video:
Your video is not in a supported format, so at least some of us cannot see it.
Okay, I was sharing a DropBox link, so I didn’t realize it would try (poorly) to display it inline. Hopefully the link is better now.
Is it NotePerformer that you are using for playback?
And if so, what version of NotePerformer do you have?
Yes, version 18.104.22.168. I also use Virtual Drum Line 2.5.5 with Kontakt 22.214.171.124.
Try to upgrade to NotePerformer 3.3.2 which contains a bug fix. That bug caused issues similar to what you experience.
Hmm. I’ve upgraded, but now Dorico doesn’t seem to be able to find the plug-in. I’ve pointed it to the right folder in preferences and reloaded the playback template, but I get the exclamation points around the plug-in name in the VST Instruments Panel.
That’s strange. What version of Dorico do you have? The very latest 3.5.12?
I do now.
Appears to be working fine now. Thanks for your help!
