Playing Techniques Panel - Alphabetized?

I just created my first custom playing and playback techniques to use the OT Berlin Strings CC3 for str or molto vibrato.

Was surprised to find that my new Molto Vibrato technique shows up at the top of the list in the playing techniques panel before “aperto” and not in alphabetical order before “multiphonic.”

Is that by design? Is there anyway to alphabetize the list?

I tried closing/refreshing the project, but it doesn’t change.

No: User-created techniques are listed first. I think the idea is that if you’ve created something for the score, then it’s likely that you’re going to be using it often.

I think what happens is that when you first add a new playing technique it appears at the very top. Then the next time you open the file it has becomes alphabetized in the list of user-created playing techniques, which as benwiggy said is ahead of the separate list of provided playing techniques. At least that is what I think happens.

Numerical symbols appear first in the list and then the various abbreviations like (f) or (sf) etc. appear in their alphabetic position. This leads to complete chaos with nothing in any logical order. And sometimes even this system seems to break down. I have finger numbers in two different locations in my Keyboard category for no apparent reason other then when they were created.

I find the inability to organize my work space the weakest part of Dorico. And this is no small matter to any craftsman, who wants his or her tools just so.
