Can I lay from a point in the score directly, without resorting to the timeline with all the tracks. I used to be able to in an earlier version of cubase but forgot the combination.
Hi
On Mac, (Shift + Option + Click) on a staff will locate the playback cursor.
On Windows, I assume it’s (Shift + Alt + Click)
Cheers
Hi,
In the Transport menu > Start Mode, you can enable the Start from Selection Start option.
In the Transport section, there is also the Play from Selection Start command. You can assign a Key Command to this.
Shift/alt click added a note.
OK I see that with start from selection, I have to choose a note, rather than a bar line and it plays from there. I am not sure where the play from selection start command is though in the ?transport section.
If you want to see (and move wherever you want with a click) the cursor also on the Score, enable it in Preferences → Score → Edit → Miscellaneous → Show position cursor… and play!
Yes, good point - that preference does need to be enabled
for (Shift + Option + Click) to work for me.
For what it’s worth, add note on Mac appears to be (Option + Command + Click)
Well I already see the curson in score, just couldn’t start where I wanted. The staart from selection did work for playing in the score, and it took awhile for me to figure out when I was back in the project manager that was why every time I stopped the song, it went back to the beginning no matter where the cursor was, so I had to undo. that is why setting a command is useful, to not have to keep going back to the menu?
