The ‘Cleanup’ function was very useful. It would be great to have it back.
‘Back-up Project’ is a possible alternative with regard to purging unwanted audio files, say from multiple takes, however, ‘Back-up Project’ inevitably creates multiple copies of any files that are shared between projects, which creates more data rather than lightening project folders. For example, a film score might have many projects for different sections of the score, all of which use the same dialogue and sfx files. The back-up function would create multiple copies of theses shared files. With 20+ sections in an entire score, this makes for a lot of unnecessary data. ‘Minimize Audio Files’ could be used to create smaller slices of the shared files, but this would imply the destruction of the originals, which may not be ideal.
Perhaps an alternative to ‘Cleanup’ could be a dialogue in the ‘Back-Up Project’ function allowing one to select which of a project’s files are copied to the back-up.
