Can someone explain how presets are saved in Halion? I see at least three places to save presets, as can be seen in the attached image.
I need to know where are these being saved, and if I drag a sample into the instrument, is that sample saved with the preset?
Also, I don’t seem to be able to see my saved presets in the Media Bay under the list of user presets for the given instrument, but only if I select ALL Libraries, ands sometimes not even then. In the second image below, there is only one preset showing under the X-Stream instrument, but I have saved three presets using X-Stream.
right-click the preset and choose “show in Explorer” and it will open a folder with your saved presets. Mine is looking for samples I dragged in where the samples are stored, not with the preset (I deleted the sample and got an error loading the preset)
that said all my saved presets are showing up as expected.
I deleted them from the folder and they are still showing up (and load nothing) (saved presets with the same name, and this time right-clicked the preset in the list and selected delete)
they’re also saved as ‘vstpreset’ and not ‘halpreset’ ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Hi, save the presets can be some confusing in HALion because the differents in what you want to open after you saved.
So, just like any other computer program, you can save files.
Offcourse you want to find your files after saving, and the mediabay gives a tree in a browser, and leads to instruments.
You can make a copy in the section Media Bay, but you can also save a Multi-Program.
That means, in the left section under the HALION SONIC7 logo, click on the symbol disk.
On the left you see the symbol Folder, that is where you can load a saved multi program.
Just click on the symbol Diskette, and a windows opens with the title:
Save HALion Sonic Multi Program.
Fill in a preset name and save.
Then you can open that Multi-program at the same place you saved it.
