Here i am again with a Coda problem. It really makes absolutely no sense to me why this is not working. At bar 289 i have a “D.S. 3 al Coda” that returns to bar 246 (segno with marker 3), and is supposed to jump To Coda from 269 to 290. Everything has been marked with a 3. It just won’t playback properly. In some of my other arrangements that have “To Coda’s”, i have the exact same problem. It will never do the jump properly.
Is this a glitch in Dorico ? Something to be fixed, to be looked at … because it’s super annoying. Coming from Sibelius (which i didn’t even have to use markers), it worked perfectly. I am liking Dorico so far, but this is so annoying and i use it all the time! Please tell me i’m doing something wrong. pleaseCheck.dorico (2.1 MB)
The repeat marker at the end of measure 289 needs to have the property ‘Jump to’ index set to 3 so Dorico will know to jump to Coda 3 when it encounters the marker To Coda 3.
Sometimes in my arrangements i need the same D.S. to repeat back to the Segno 2-3 times. I usually use “custom txt” and put “D.S. (2X) or (3X)” … players understand what needs to be done. Is there a way to achieve this in playback with Dorico ?
Dorico only performs a jump specified with repeat markers once. If you want a D.S. to jump to the same location twice, you will need a visible D.S. (2X) and a hidden D.S. 2, and a visible Segno and a hidden Segno 2. Note that you need to create the two D.S. markers at different rhythmic positions and then move them together. The same goes for the two Segno markers.
