I think I have the solution… Set the performers BUFFER SIZE down to 128

Background
I had exact same problem:

  • Connected with Wires
  • 5Mbps Internet
  • Audio from performer was lagging

We tried all the settings above:

  • Audio Boost ON
  • ASIO Guard OFF
  • Auto adjust for Record Latency
  • Remote delay seconds to 3

Still lagged :slight_smile:

Tried adjusting the PERFORMERS BUFFER SIZE up to 4096

It got worse

Set Remote delay seconds back to 1 and BUFFER SIZE down to 128

It Works Perfectly!!!

In my last session I was using an ipad for vst connect perfomer. but it was only 1028 buffer size that seemed to work
when I changed buffersize, suddenly the connection started to get worse, and it even got disconnected. infact it got so bad that you couldn’t even playback, didn’t even try to record, it was so messy.

any idea why, any settings that need to be changed on the ipad, or is it just not possible to do this on the ipad?

Also, in your setup, does this mean that remote delay is still best at 3 seconds, or when you changed buffersize to 128, should the delay rather be something else?

And, what is “Audio Boost”, you say that you set that to ON. Is this something I should copy?

thanks for all the help, there is so much in this program I still don’t get, its a bit like fumbling in the dark, not really knowing what is causing things not to work, and what settings make things worse, and what makes it better
