cubase 6.5 will open cubase 7 files … this is great … because my home studio has 7 and the mother ship has 6.5 .

us happy c7 users are trying to stay quiet so steinberg thinks everything has gone wrong

What about Channel Strip elements, like tape/tube saturations ? If you use it in your C7 at home, then mother ship cant use it in C6.5…But its a great that projects are (almost) compatible back.
