Plugin Editor Window and event dragging feature requests

Hey all - not totally sure where to do these except here, so here goes.

  • (Optional from current plugin editor window) Dedicated plugin editor window that always forces the position the openend plugin to the same spot allowing 1 plugin to have focus. I’m aware after dragging a plugin to a certain position - it will remain there from that point on, but just being able to dedicate a spot on your desktop would save a lot of extra dragging and repositioning.
  • Automatic opening of the plugin window on current track selection if applicable - perfect combination with the dedicated window.
  • When dragging events using smaller (zoomed out) track lanes on higher resolution it becomes very hard to guess on which track you are actually dropping the event. It would be great if you could accentuate the full track horizontally to see which track the event is hovering on before releasing to drop.

On your point number two I guess sort of “plugin window management per track” would be something to prototype. Imagen to have that option and when set plugins are grouped visually per track.

The last point would be interesting like a mouse over option that makes track expand in height on mouse over.

The first point is hard for me to visualize what you are trying to say there. But I definently put a vote on this one for the second and third

What i meant is like you have a single window that you can postition somewhere on your screen - and every time you open the plugin ui - it opens in that spot. If you’d open another plugin, this one would disappear (or tab whatever) inside that window and the new one opens in the exact same spot. This way you don’t get the clutter of the vst’s having to be dragged to a position that works for you.

Say even a static bind the left/right top corner of the plugin window to position x/y would be a big asset.

The same thing would be great for the midi editor - the current behaviour is that it disappears often when the event is unselected, due to new recordings or deletion. It’d be great if the window would just remain static until manually closed. So like a wrapper of sorts I guess?

Ah ok now I understand

Sounds a bit like the lower zone in cubase with the editor there but with a tab for “focused plugin”.

Sounds like a nice feature from what you described!
