Popover Window (hide/show)

Hi, I’m using Dorico 5 Elementals.

I can’t figure out how to show the Popover window on the right side, showing all the symbols available (extended window). There’s no "hide/show’ arrow and I couldn’t figure out the shortcut.

For the panesl, there’s no arrow either, but I can make the extended window appears using CTRL + 9.

Any help will be aprecciated, thank you.

There is no “extended window” for the popovers. When you click one of the popover icons, the appropriate popover opens in the score, just as if you had typed the popover shortcut.

Popovers and palettes are alternate ways of entering things in your score. Palettes give you point and click functionality, while popovers rely on short typed text.

You can download a guide to popover syntax here:

Thanks for your reply. I’ve got the PDF already.

I understand what you said. I meant palettes. Anyway, they don’t show for me. I can access by using the shortcuts in the pdf, but I cannot see the actual options. I know I was supposed to see the palette, according to the image below. In that image (from Dorico Youtube channel) you also can see the little arrow in the right corner. That doesn’t appear to me as well. Any ideia why?

Thank you.

In my screen, when I click the same symbol (tr), what appears is:

You currently have the keyboard version of the right panel displayed.
Click the palette icon immediately above the keyboard icon to use the palette version of the right panel.

Got it, thank you. I guess I might have been confusing the pannels and popovers functions.

The arrow in the right corner is not appearing though. But that’s ok, I can use the shortcut.

Thank you guys.

The arrow button was removed in one of the last updates. You can just click on the button of the selected palette to close the right panel.

I wonder if that little arrow is Mac only, because I don’t see it on Windows.

In any case, you don’t need it. If you’re using the palettes, just click on the icon for the palette you want, and the palette will appear. Click the icon again, and the palette goes away.
