Possible serialization / library manager bug

I am seeing what I think may be a bug in the library manager (or perhaps the code that serializes a document to disk).

Dorico Version: 6.1.10.6078 (Oct 8 2025)
MacOS Sequoia: 15.7.2
2024 MacStudio

Reproduction steps:

  • Start up Dorico 6
  • File | New From Project Template | Solo | Solo Piano
  • File | Save As … current document as, say, “~/Downloads/Z”
  • Close the current document “Z”
  • File | New From Project Template | Solo | Solo Piano
  • Library | library Manager …`

Now drag and drop the previously saved document “~/Downloads/Z” on the project drop target zone to compare it with the current document (which it seems to me ought to be identical): a number of options appear to be different, including:

  • some “playback options”
  • some “collection | music symbols”
  • some “collection | playback techniques”

While the differences are maybe not all that important, the effect is rather disconcerting because it introduces doubt as to whether my current document has actually changed or not with respect to the original template I created it from.

Many thanks,

Jonathon

I believe the dev team has said before that some settings are not actually instantiated in a document until they’re needed, so that the comparison in Library Manager between two basically new documents may show some differences that aren’t accurate.
