Preferences Preset to be loaded when opening Preferences

When I open Preferences, I expect my current Preset to be loaded so I can make changes and save. What happens every time:

Open Prefs > Make Changes > Try to save the Preset…

You don’t know which one was and if it was active. So the routine is:

Open Prefs > SELECT PRESET > Make Changes > Save the Preset

The current preset would be used.. but what if you made some changes to it before saving…

So saving is a must every time you alter a preset. and selecting the preset is a must before making changes you want to save.

Some indication of what preset is loaded currently (with a * to indicate if changes were made) would be quite helpful.

This behaviour is every where in Cubase.

Yes, this can cause confusion and it is a hinderance. Current changes are applied immediately but they will only be baked into the preference file once you quit Cubase and then relaunch. Same applies to profiles. More than once I scratched my head wondering what just happened to recent changes in combination with Save.
